Mr. Duane Harper's letter to the Donnie Simpson Morning Show

Monday, October 2, 2006

Good morning to the entire 'Donnie Simpson Morning Show' family. I am going to make this short and to the point. My wish is for my lovely wife of (soon to be) five years (Jan. 23. 2007 to be exact). My wish is for her to have the wedding and reception that we weren't able to have in 2002. You see, back in 2001, I was diagnosed with renal facture. We were saving for a ceremony, reception, etc., but the circumstances at that particular time, led us to a change In plans. She sacrificed her dream wedding day for a justice of the peace ceremony.

We were married on January 23, 2002. On January 24, 2002, l underwent a surgical procedure which allowed me to begin dialysis treatments. A year after being on dialysis, l was blessed with a kidney transplant from my aunt. Throughout all of this, this woman remained by my side. She took care of me: she drove me to my dialysis treatments, to ail of my doctor's appointments, she took me to work (when I was able to start backer she leered her cooking to accommodate my dietary needs and all the while maintained the house, her job, child's a homework. and attended school functioned Not once did I hear her utter a word of complaint, Oh, did l mention that she was also able to keep her obligation to her dance ministry at our church. l couldn't forget to mention that, with dancing being a big pad of her life and all.

I don't know what else to say about her. She is my life, my strength, my inspiration, and most of all, my soul mate. My wish is for her to have her dream wedding day. For our fifth anniversary! l told her that I wanted to renew our vows, and give her that dream day, I thought I'd be able to swing it, but It's getting dose to crunch time, and I’m not so sure now. Donnie, could you please help to make this happen for her. She is truly deserving of this.

By the way, her name is Gabrielle. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely, Duane M, Harper, Sr.
